1886 Waltham Engraved Gold Antique Pocket Watch 1885-1886 Waltham Engraved Gold Antique Pocket Watch This gold engraved Waltham pocket watch has a serial number of 2,791,315. According to our research this dates the watch at 1885-1886. The case is engraved with a bird (possibly a hummingbird) getting nectar from flowers on a trellis. The case is marked inside ILLINOIS WATCH CASE CO. ELGIN, USA. The inside of the back of the case in inscripted Dave to Helen. This watch is in good shape but is possibly missing the glass face and the case has a little discoloration around the hinge. Also, the back of the case where the inscription is, there is significant scratching in the gold. It looks like someone tried to open the back of the case unsuccessfully.
