How do I start my pocketwatch?

I bought a pocketwatch today and it won't start moving the second hand. hyow can i get it to start?

Is it electric or wind up? If its wind up, don't wind it to much. Try shaking it. If it's electric, be sure the battery is good. Take the battery out and put it back in, make sure it's in correctly.
