I need to set the correct time to a Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch? How would I go about doing this? I'm told I need to remove the crystal? Would I need anything to do that? Thanks in advance for the answers.
American pocket watches had two main methods of setting-pendant set and lever set.
Railroad watches are all lever set, or at least those made after 1906 always were, so this is more than likely lever set.

Overview of my Hamilton 992 pocket watch built in 1921. This watch is nearly 100 years old and still keeps time to within 30 seconds per week.
Showing the movement of the Hamiltion 992 pocket watch. This version has a striped pattern on the movement plates. I also own an earlier version that has fancy damaskeening on the plates.
Even with the numerous changing of hands, Hamilton is legendary for the railroad pocket watch and is still making quality timepieces today.
