How can I dress retro but also athletic?

So I have band camp for two weeks and each day we have a theme that we have to dress up for to get points. Tomorrow is retro day and when thinking of retro, I think tight dresses, flowy, perfectly wavy hair, and high heels. I want to get a retro look,

Go for an 80s look. Like yellow shirts with a bright blue top and lime green sneakers.
