After two days with temperatures in the 90s earlier this week, the temperatures thereafter cooled off dramatically.  But the cool temperatures were no where near what we experienced two years ago.  From June 5-9, 2009 the temperature never rose to 60 degrees or above.  It was the only known stretch in the record books with 5 consecutive June days with a high temperature in the 50s.

It was during that same stretch, on June 6, 2009 that Dickinson and other areas nearby received between 1-4 inches of snow.  That was the first measurable June snowfall in Dickinson in 60 years and only the 2nd time measurable snow was recorded in June there since records began.  High temperatures in the 50s this time of year is not that unusual.  Every day in June, but 5 have a record low maximum in the 40s or 50s, but usually those chilly days are a singular event.
