Can I take a real estate sign (for sale) down even if I still have a contract with them?

My contract with the real estate company does not end until the end of this year, but I no longer want the sign on the front lawn. Can I legally take it down?

You didn't state the reason you want to remove the sign, so my answer is based on the premise that you don't want it in your yard for visual reasons but you want it to remain on the market.
