Is an A-frame cabin built on a raised foundation to facilitate airflow underneath?

The A-frame cabins I've seen are built on concrete foundation pillars, leaving a 3-4 foot crawlspace beneath the cabin. I'm curious if this is for any specific reason, like ventilation or airflow. I've seen them built this way in the far North in Canada,

If the A-Frame had a basement then it wouldnt be built that way. Think about it.

Smoke In Cabin Forces Emergency Landing At San Francisco ...

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A United Airlines passenger jet has made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport after smoke fumes were reported in the cabin.

United Airlines spokesman Mike Trevino said the San Francisco-bound Flight 479, which originated in Las Vegas, landed safely at the airport around 7 p.m. Friday.

Trevino said there were 179 passengers and six crewmembers on board. There were no injuries.

It was not known what caused the smoke fumes.
