Home Studio
This may not be of much absorb to many folks, but I’d like to dole out it anyway because even after all the mileage I’ve gotten from it, I stillness think it’s so cool! Behold, the corner of my condo that is my painting studio!
My husband and I both enjoyment antique furniture, and he found this small gem just for me at one of Rochester, Minnesota’s “Gold To-do Days” antique fairs. The stools belonged to his colossal-grandfather, who was an architect. I’m so fortunate to must such a unique set-up!
But how, you may ask, do I keep from damaging these antiques when I’m working? Expressively, it’s easy enough when I’m purely sketching or working with dry media, but for imposingly paintings my husband employed a bit of adeptness.
Here is the back of a 31”x52” proportion of very lightweight board, captivated from my mother-in-law’s old drafting table. As you can see, a hanker piece of scrap wood has been drilled into the repayment.
