Gold Commemorative Coins

How thick is the 1986 commonwealth games commemorative gold coin compared to the nickel brass coins issued ?

the coin i have is 3mm thick
also its not magnetic and its easily filed
liberty 911....i used a file to see how soft it was, one of the articals i read on it said the gold ones were softer than the nickle ones and that a nickle one

According to this link the nickel brass coins are the same diameter and weight as the gold coins but thicker. Why would you file it?

EDIT: According to the Royal Mint website, the £2 nickel-brass coin is 2.5mm thick.

A bill requiring the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue coins in commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the United States Marshals Service has been signed into law by the President.

The bill H.R. 886 United States Marshals Service 225th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act was introduced by Rep. Steve Womack of Arkansas on March 2, 2011. The bill passed in the House on December 15, 2011, passed in the Senate with amendments on March 15, 2012, and was signed by the President on April 2, 2012.
