Cheap Coins and Medals
I have done some research, but found little in the way of error coins. The must run virtually mistake free mints in Europe.
No they do make errors at European mints. There are doubled dies like the 1955 U.S. cent. The rest of the world is just not as crazy about errors. U.S. coins have gone way up in price so now people are looking for something else to find and errors fit

Until 1990, the mintmarks on US coins were applied to the dies by hand using a punch. This often resulted in a slight variation in the location of the mintmark on each die. The mintmarks on your coins appear to be within the general tolerance of correct placement. Sometimes a mintmark will be so far off that it touches other lettering, and those will sometimes bring a small premium.
