Cheap Coins and Medals
I have several proof sets of UK coins from 1989 through to 2002 that were collected for me as a child. I am looking to find out the value of these sets. All are in mint condition (only ever taken out of original box once or twice, coin display cases never
Not much I'm afraid - have a look on ebay for similar sets for sale.
These things sell in such quantity that they have little value other than the joy of ownership.

The Perth Mint will soon release a limited edition ten coin set for the popular Australian Lunar Series II - 2012 Year of the Dragon. Each set includes nine 1 oz silver specimen quality colored coins and a 1 oz silver bullion coin.
People born within the Year of the Dragon said to be confident, enterprising, independent, self-assured, brave, and passionate. The current Year of the Dragon includes the date range of January 13, 2012 to February 9, 2013. Previous years included 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, and 2000. The dragon is the only mythological creature included within the Chinese zodiac.

They made proof sets in 1968...it was the first year they were minted in San Francisco. However, they didn't make "silver proof sets" like they do today. Clad coinage began in 1965 for quarters and dimes...but not for half dollars. Half Dollars from 1965-1970 are 40% silver. So, every 1968 proof set contains a 40% silver half. So...yes it does contain silver, but it's not a "silver proof set" like are minted today. The only problem I have with it is the phrase "silver...
